Do all recommendations work?
Now, we understand that not everyone has the same style, vision, and even vibe. So sometimes the referrals you get might not be exactly what you are looking for. But it does provide a good starting point for you to browse and speak to possible vendors. It is as important to know what you don’t like as it is to know what you like.
Why do it this way? Well, referrals give you a head start by narrowing down your options to professionals who’ve proven they can deliver. It is quite large, but the circles within it usually group and work together based on style, price range, and professionalism. Once you find one of them, they will refer you to others they have already vouched for and worked with.

Are all online reviews real? How Do We Find Reputable Vendors?
If you’re looking for alternatives, online reviews can be helpful but tread carefully. Not all reviews are genuine, and some vendors might have glowing reviews but lack the experience you need. Another option is attending bridal shows where you can meet vendors face-to-face and get a feel for their style and personality. However, the key here is to still follow up with references and ask lots of questions.
Relying on referrals and recommendations works because it’s based on real experiences, not just polished websites or catchy social media profiles. It’s like getting a personal endorsement from someone who’s already done the hard work of vetting for you. Skipping this step might lead you to vendors who don’t quite match your vision or, worse, aren’t reliable when the big day rolls around.
But what’s the truth really?
You’ll find that no matter what their website says, how highly they are recommended, and how much they are featured, it comes down to your gut and your experience. If you’ve met them through a consultation and they just don’t feel right for you, your gut is your compass. Trust yourself.

- Do they have wedding insurance? (some venues require this from vendors!)
- Do they have a professional demeanor and answer my questions honestly?
- Are all my inquiries being answered in a timely matter?
- Do you feel confident about trusting them, or do you feel like you have to babysit them through the whole journey?
- Do you value relationships or do you just want to save money and don’t care how the customer service will sound and look like?
A pill to swallow. How Do We Find Reputable Vendors?
I want to include here that the money you are willing to spend on your wedding is an investment. If you are working with a tight budget, you can expect that the customer service and quality might not be at the highest. Know what your money can and cannot buy. It is quite a hard pill to swallow, but as we know, we can’t buy a Porsche with a Honda budget.
However, that doesn’t mean that your wedding won’t be beautiful. It is a matter of finding the right creatives to help you develop ideas on how to make things look and feel as close to a Porsche while spending like a Honda.
If you want to splurge, then yes, absolutely work with the top-tiered wedding vendors. If you want to budget and use your money towards other things outside the wedding, there are still lot of creatives and vendors that can support your vision and help you work around it to meet your budget.
No approach is wrong or right. Whatever your decision is, you will make it right for you. Your wedding will be beautiful no matter what because you are beautiful and you are marrying the love of your life.
