Here are 6 hacks to get your quick 10-minute makeup routine:

〰️ PREP AND PRIME EFFICIENTLY. Begin by cleansing your face and applying a lightweight moisturizer with built-in SPF to protect your skin. Use a multitasking primer that minimizes pores and evens out skin texture, ensuring a smooth base for makeup application.

〰️ FOCUS ON TARGETED COVERAGE. Skip the heavy foundation and opt for a lightweight tinted moisturizer or BB cream to even out your complexion quickly. Use a creamy concealer only where needed—under the eyes, around the nose, and on any blemishes—to spot-conceal and brighten key areas.

〰️ EMBRACE THE FORMULA THAT MATCHES YOUR SKIN’S NEEDS. Choose cream-based makeup products for a fuss-free application. Cream blushes and eyeshadows can be applied with your fingertips, offering a natural finish and blending seamlessly into the skin.

Powder formula makeup works well for various skin types because it helps control shine and oiliness, making it ideal for those with combination or oily skin. It’s also great for people living in humid climates as it can help set makeup and prevent it from melting off. Additionally, powder formulas are often lightweight and breathable, making them suitable for sensitive or acne-prone skin as they are less likely to clog pores.

〰️ MASTER THE ART OF SPEEDY EYES. Enhance your eyes with a swipe of mascara to open up your gaze. If you have a few extra seconds, define your brows using a tinted brow gel or pencil. For eyeshadow, choose a neutral shade that can be applied quickly and blended with ease.

〰️ DUAL-USE PRODUCTS. Invest in makeup items that serve multiple purposes, such as a lip and cheek stain or a versatile highlighter stick. These products can be applied in seconds and create a cohesive makeup look without the need for multiple products. (10-Minute Makeup Tips)

〰️ INVEST IN QUALITY BRUSHES. Brushes can change how you do your makeup. It will either speed it up and increase your accuracy, or it can slow you down and make you go over or re-do things. Investing in quality brushes will help you target, contour, apply, and blend faster and beautifully.

〰️ SET YOUR MAKEUP. Finish your quick routine with a dusting of translucent setting powder or a setting spray to lock in your makeup and extend its wear throughout the day.

10-Minute Makeup Tips For A Busy Work Day

Here are some quick and effective makeup tips to streamline your routine and make your workday mornings more enjoyable:

PREP YOUR SKIN

Start with a clean and moisturized face. Use a lightweight primer like Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer to smooth and prepare your skin for makeup.

EFFORTLESS FOUNDATION

Opt for a multitasking foundation like NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30. It provides a natural finish with sun protection and moisturizing benefits.

Depending on your skin type, if you are not into liquids, powder foundations like Mac Studio Fix Powder Foundation might be a better match.

CONCEAL AND BRIGHTEN

Use a brightening concealer such as Tarte Shape Tape Concealer to cover dark circles and brighten up your under-eye area.

There are many various ways to apply concealer. You can do it on top of foundation, or under foundation. But this will ultimately depend on your skin type.

QUICK EYESHADOW

Choose a neutral eyeshadow palette like Urban Decay Naked Basics for easy, everyday eye looks. Use a matte shade on your lids and a slightly darker shade on the crease.

If you are not into eyeshadows and want to cut your time shorter, you can skip this step altogether.

MASCARA MAGIC

Define your lashes with a volumizing mascara such as Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara for instant impact.

I’ve realized over time that my lashes tend to drop when applying mascara even after I curl them. My lashes are just not made to hold mascara without drooping and smudging – no matter what brand I use.

Eventually, I embraced lash extensions which ended up saving me so much time and effort. I only do the “mini” lash extensions. They are natural-looking lashes that just add length and curl which opened my eyes and made me look “all done up” even if I only had powder on.

NATURAL FLUSH

Sweep a cream blush like Glossier Cloud Paint onto your cheeks for a fresh and dewy look.

If there is anything I won’t miss, it’s blush. I will skip all the other steps, but I will need to blush. Mainly because I know how flat and pale my face is. Even the slightest tone of color will help add some depth to my face.

The placement of your blush will determine how you’d like to frame your face.

Here is a guide from Charlotte Tilbury on blush placements:

My blush placement has changed through the years as my face shape also changed. I’ve been using David Sandler‘s heart shape placement tip as shown below.

GLOW UP

Apply a highlighter like BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter to the high points of your face for a radiant finish.

BROW BASICS

Quickly groom your brows with a tinted brow gel such as Anastasia Beverly Hills Tinted Brow Gel to add color and hold.

Second to blush, eyebrows shading or shaping are a must. It frames your face and adds depth.

LIP LOVE

Choose a low-maintenance lip color like Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment for hydration and a hint of color.

The Glossier Ultralip is my holy grail. I take it everywhere with me. Easy to touch up and adds moisture to my lips. It’s not overpowering, but enough tint to lighten up my lip.

SETTING SPRAY

Lock in your makeup with a setting spray like Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray to keep it fresh all day.

One more fave is from One Size by Patrick Starr. As you might have heard, Beyonce’s makeup artist used this and Beyonce lasted the whole concert with flawless makeup.
